From competitive Irish Dancer to Yoga teacher - this is my story....
During my childhood and teenage times I was very passionate in equitation - but still - I always wanted to dance. Being 25 - and therefore, way to old for getting started , I began my career as an Irish Dancer. First only considered to be a hobby I became a high performance dancer. But dancing in that intensity is limited. After competing in three Mainland European Championships and with winning several Adult Championships, I finished my competitive career. I had reached way more than I ever dreamed of in Irish Dancing.
But what to do with my body that was still impacted by years of demanding training and exercise? I believe what is meant to be, finds us when we need it and so Yoga crossed my path.
I started Ashtanga Yoga Innovation - barley knowing what that meant - in 2016 and was set on fire almost right away. Through the years I realized that there is so much more to Yoga than "only" doing sports.
Having taught Irish Dancing for many years becoming a Yoga teacher was a logical next step. But it went so much further than I could have ever imagined in the beginning. I got into contact with Trauma sensitive Yoga in 2020 and another important part of my life was found. With teaching Yoga in a military environment, learning about the impact trauma can have, is something quite reasonable. Yoga has the power to heal body and mind. Something I experienced myself after getting in touch with my own traumatic experiences.
I am still on my healing journey and I want to share the healing power of Yoga with everyone.
